Do you have a passion for helping young people?
We are looking for a Careers Adviser to help create better futures for young people in Cambridge Road Seaforth
You will provide careers information, advice and guidance to 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training. You will help them to identify their strengths and interests, build confidence and understand their options. Then, you’ll help them make the right plan for them, reflecting their unique talents, needs and ambitions.
You will empower young people to get to where they want to be.
You’ll support young people to overcome a range of barriers and achieve their goals. This could include moving into employment, education or training. Or building personal and social skills by connecting to new experiences, volunteering or short programmes. You’ll link young people up to wellbeing and mental health support when required.
You’ll also help with the practical things, such as access to ID or support with travel.
We are proud of our strong community links, and we know that collaboration leads to better outcomes.
You will use your excellent communication skills to work closely with partner organisations and help achieve improved outcomes for those you support. You will have direct contact with young people, their parents/carers, and a range of professionals from support services, training providers and employers. You’ll enjoy building positive relationships.
Location
You will be based at our office at Cambridge Road Seaforth L21 1EZ, but you will work flexibly in venues across the community. We’re looking for people who can manage their time well and travel independently.
Qualifications
A Level 6 careers guidance qualification or equivalent is preferred for this role.
However, we may consider applicants who have a Level 4, plus a minimum of 2-years’ experience, and are willing to undertake a Level 6 qualification. We are willing to invest in the right person for the role.
